Media Specialist
Welcome to the Wicksburg Elementary Library
The mission of our school Media Center is to provide an inviting learning environment to support a love of reading, while promoting effective use of technology to foster independent learning. We believe that the elementary school library should be a welcoming space for all learners to foster lifelong readers. Students should freely use the resources to spark curiosity and creativity.
Anna Gilmore, M. Ed.
Media Specialist
I am excited to be a part of this faculty and staff as I begin year 22 at Wicksburg! I started in the classroom here in 2004 and transitioned to the Media Specialist in 2007. It has been an awesome journey so far!
I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University, then a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Troy University, and later my Master’s in Library Media from the University of West Alabama.
I am originally from Hamilton, AL and graduated from Hamilton High School. I am married to my husband, Jonathan, a 1998 graduate of WHS. We have 3 girls, Leighton (11th grade), Landry (8th grade), and Lillian (2nd grade), who also attend Wicksburg.
